Rocky Mountain High!

Chris and I took advantage of an extra day off over the holiday weekend and supremely good weather to launch our attack on Mt Evans. Beginning in Idaho Springs, total stats were 56mi round trip, 7,800ft climbing (and descending), ascending to 14,130ft! I did it on my trusty Yeti Arc-X, complete with traditional 39x27 gearing, and cross tires and brakes! No matter, it was a truly fantastic and memorable day!

Brief pit stop and photo op halfway up at beautiful Echo Lake.
Grinding uphill - miles 14-18 were the toughest!
Mt Evans resident mountain goat. He was pretty tame.We did it! Denver in the distant background.
