Churning my legs into butter

Amazing how pushing myself to the physical pain threshold brings a reprieve from the mental and emotional stress. With less than 10 days remaining before graduation, everyday is maxed out. I managed to steal away a couple hours this afternoon for a quick stint up Belcher Hill to the top of White Ranch, then a fun descent back to the car!

Lots of deer out on a sunny afternoon.Snow still hanging on up high.Beautiful 575 - the most fun trailbike ever!
Happy day!

Guinness' Birthday Party!

We celebrated Guinness turning 3 with cupcakes (for us) and new toys for her!

Jameson was already jealous that it was not his party! 2 more months little James until you turn 3.Guinness makes a wish...Then closes in to blow out her big candle! What great toys! Da Bird never gets old, and a new mouse to carry around.Guinness is one crazed and animated 3-year old!

(Mountain) Spring Cross

Twas the day of Cult Cross and all gear was set,
The ARC-X loaded, and fueled up for the trek.
Toward Eagle we headed while guzzling caffeine,
For the BEST 'cross race the spring has ever seen!

The day began sunny in Denver we left,
But quickly turned nasty through the mountains with bereft.
Not to be denied by the ills of Mother Nature,
The race would go on, that much was assured.

A quick, hectic warm-up ensued,
As the wicked snow and wind blew,
Only 2 of us gals showed up at the line,
To exhaust our bodies for the next 40 minutes in time.

Against the elements we commenced forth,
On the fun, yet challenging Cult Cross course.
With ElGee at the mic and techno music full blast,
We poured our hearts out like the race was our last.

We suffered in the spring as we do in the fall,
With barriers, run-ups and off-cambers sans falls.
I crossed the line first, alas sweet victory,
Making Cult Cross 2010 a great memory!
