Despite the soreness from the muscle crushing uphill ride on Saturday, I couldn't let a perfectly good sunny weekend day slip by without a ride... especially since I'll be working 6-day weeks for the remaining 6 weeks of my clinical rotation. Thus, it was time to properly introduce the 575 to the trail.
South Table Mesa seemed like the appropriate choice, as I assumed the copious sun exposure on the mesa would surely dry it out faster than the surrounding mtn bike trail choices. Boy was I wrong! The pic does not do justice to just how creamy the mud and slop was - the perfect consistency of butter cream frosting!
Amidst the goopy grind around the mesa, I ran into fellow CoMo rider, Todd, and enjoyed a friendly chat and brief shot downhill before parting ways. The 575 plowed through the rocky patches with ease, and was still nimble enough to surge back uphill, even while laden with a couple extra pounds of mud! Thanks to my husband for the best Christmas present ever... I can't wait to get back out on the trail!!!
