The blue bird day made for some excellent riding, and fun... Bubba and I rode Yeti 7's and Chris rode his 575. We all dropped our saddles as we dropped in for the first run... a mix of tacky soil, rocky straights, and smooth berms. Darner joined us for a couple runs, both coaching us out of the cross country mode, and cheering us on as we further pushed our skills.
After a few warm-up runs, I had my mind set on tackling the 3 'doubles' at the top of the run. I cleared the first double on my first try, and on the next attempt, with Chris taking photos I aimed to go even BIGGER!
I took off with a lot of speed...

I was flyin' high!

Then I realized I was a bit too high... and too fast! I overshot the jump, landing on the flat and catapulting forward!

My front wheel tacoed, separating at the fusion point.

Darner caught up with us, then tried to re-bend the wheel, to no avail... it was done, tacoed, ca put.

I felt a little twinge in my back... not bad, but enough from letting me ride the rest of the day. I took the lift back down.

Before I headed out, Bubba hit up the doubles with some awesome air!

I headed back to the truck for some rudimentary icing on the tailgait, while waiting for the boys to return.

It was such a fun day, I can't wait to do it again. The Yeti 7 is the sweetest bike I've ever ridden... hooked up on the terrain, plush without being too overbearing, and light enough to easily take flight... it may just be my next bike!!!
